Shortly after being licensed I realized most of my clients were either going through cancer or recovering from cancer. I realized there are not many LMT’s that offer safe therapeutic oncology massage or even mastectomy massage. I’ve had several women friends survive breast cancer and I realized the pain and lack of movement they had after surgery would benefit greatly from massage. I also feel that MLD is very necessary when lymphedema is present. I’m very active in educating clients and their families about oncology massage as well as MLD. My massages are not just medical, I have a beautiful room, quiet music, and try to offer relaxation along with pampering while taking care of my clients. I try to offer a “spa” experience in a safe space so that my clients go away feeling satisfied and taken care of. I’m there to support, listen if needed, and help the client reconnect with their body. We can talk, laugh or just hold space while I work. It’s all about them. I have specialized training in Oncology Massage and Manual Lymph Drainage and am excited that MEND will help get patients services that can assist in healing.
