Most of us these days have had our lives impacted by cancer in one way or another either personally, through a family member or friend and/or in our larger communities. After 25 years in practice, my passion and commitment has continued to be as strong as it was when I began many years ago. I have been described as a warm, compassionate and empathic therapist which, in combination with my extensive training, highly developed skills and years of experience, enables me to work successfully with people navigating through the challenges and transitions of their lives which for some includes a cancer diagnosis. Access to support and services is crucial during both treatment and recovery post-treatment. Although each person’s journey is unique and needs may differ, one can never have too much support and putting together a plan that includes counseling specifically focused on cancer recovery can insure a strong foundation going forward. I believe that the work of therapy happens in a safe, non-judgmental setting which enables people to build a trusting relationship where they can share their deepest concerns, build resilience, develop insight and change thoughts and behaviors in order to live a more authentic and fulfilling life despite the challenges.
