  • 60 Min Myofascial Release. Myofascial Release as taught by John Barnes is unlike any form of therapy today because it focuses on treating the fascia, or connective tissue system, using gentle, sustained pressure that reduces the pull of bound tissues on pain-sensitive areas. Deep and lasting pain relief is achieved when this pressure is held for a minimum of 5 minutes to allow broad releases to occur. This essential “time element” is what separates JFBMFR from the older forms of myofascial release (structural integration/rolfing) and other types of bodywork. Myofascial Release is a WHOLE body, hands-on therapy that allows the network of fascia to unravel, eliminating pain and restoring motion throughout the body.
  • 60 Min Yoga Session. Persistent pain and/or structural dysfunction may be perpetuated by “holding” or “bracing” patterns in the body. While we may sleep, we rarely take time to truly rest. Restorative yoga poses help us learn how to relax and rest deeply and completely. Using props and longer held gentle poses allows for greater connection to your core self and opens a doorway to the mind-body connection. You will love this time to totally rest, reconnect and reboot. Studies have shown that Restorative Yoga is highly effective when used in recovery from illness, injury and chronic pain. Restorative Yoga benefits: lowers stress hormones stimulates the body’s natural healing response lowers blood pressure helps relieve chronic pain increases productivity and clarity helps alleviate sleep disorders, lowers anxiety and irritability, enhances flexibility, balances the nervous system, improves digestion, improves mindfulness, improves breath patterns and more.

Leslie Daley MFA, RYT500, MS OTR/L is a licensed occupational therapist having earned her Master of Science degree from Columbia University in 2012. With a diverse background in health, wellness and healing, she has studied a variety of healing modalities including Trager, Ohashi Shiatsu, Reiki, the Alexander Technique, and therapeutic yoga. She discovered John Barnes Myofascial Release as a client in need. As her injuries and chronic pain profoundly improved with treatment, she felt called to offer this work to others. Myofascial Release is unlike any form of therapy today as it focuses on treating the fascia, or connective tissue system, using gentle, sustained pressure that reduces the pull of bound tissues on pain-sensitive areas. MFR produces consistent results in reducing pain, restoring motion and improving quality of life.

As a thirty-year yoga practitioner and long-time teacher, Leslie incorporates yoga into treatment as a way to release painful mental and physical patterns through breath-centered movement and deeply relaxing supported postures. Whether your goal is to reduce pain, dysfunction or stress, enhance recovery from an injury or illness, or develop healthy habits and a more balanced life, she can work with you to create a program that uniquely addresses your concerns and values.
